Refreshing Hibiscus and Dole's Menu
A Fresh Take on Menu Design
Hibiscus and Dole, a student-operated Hawaiian cuisine eatery, sought a fresh approach for their menu design, opting for a flat and trifold format. Taking on the challenge, I crafted new menus featuring their logo and extensive menu offerings. By meticulously crafting a typography hierarchy and introducing a vibrant color palette, I rejuvenated their visual identity. The result? A stunning display of creativity within constraints, boasting two distinct layouts that breathe new life into their brand.

With a focus on typographic hierarchy, the menus are designed to offer an engaging viewing experience. Organized into three sections—category, menu items, and item description—I utilized two feature fonts, Ivimode and Poppins along with Poppins Italic, to delineate each section effectively. I created an intriguing layout by strategically rearranging menu items across the page. The end result showcases a dynamic presentation that revitalizes the brand identity of Hibiscus and Dole, offering two distinct layouts that captivate and invigorate their brand presence.

In line with their visual identity, I crafted a vibrant monoline drawing of hibiscus, utilizing it to frame the page and blending colors for captivating visual contrast. Recognizing the need for additional content in the trifold, I introduced a dedicated happy hour section, featuring half-priced alcoholic drinks and discounted appetizers and desserts. This thoughtful addition enhances the menu’s offerings and enriches the dining experience at Hibiscus and Dole.
