Final Outcome:
One project I did was redesigning The Titan’s Curse cover from the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. During this project, I used my familiarity with the story to start thinking of eye-catching cover designs that would represent the story well. With that, I ultimately settled on a concept that focuses on the myth of Atlas, the titan who was cursed to hold up the sky after losing the Titanomachy. After choosing to base it on that myth, I then worked on conceptualizing it and how I wanted to display the scene, with the cover having Atlas holding the sky with the title of the book in a font similar to that of a constellation. While the back cover is a reference to the ending of the books, where one of the questers gets turned into a constellation after dying in battle against her father, Atlas. In the end, I designed a thought-provoking book cover that references scenes in the book while still keeping the essence of Percy Jackson.
